If your house is not already pre-wired, you will probably need quite a bit of speaker cable.

If your system uses an audio distribution amplifier instead of a hub and amplified keypads, you will need to run both Cat 5e cable and in-wall speaker wire from the amplifier to each independent zone. Consider going with Monster CI Pro 16-4/CAT5E bulk cable pictured below.

Any speaker wire that is run inside the walls and/or ceiling from the back of a powered keypad to in-wall or in-ceiling speakers should be CL2 or CL3 rated for in-wall installation.

If you will also be running cable to outdoor speakers, you could kill two birds with one stone and purchase the cable pictured below.
